My journey was an amazing trip that I would recommend that it must be on a wish list of things that you want to do in life. It all started on Thursday morning at 11pm I was dropped of by a boat to one of the poles. I hooked myself on the rock with my helmet and gear. I started to climb up the huge stack which was 65 meters high. What makes the Totem Pole so special is the fact the geologists estimate that it has been standing tall for roughly about a hundred years. It is part of the Tasmanian national park, although it is covered by sea people climb it and sit on top of it which is quite terrifying. I had covered half way when I had slipped and fell and hit my head off the rock. I felt blood come of my head and the water was as blood. it has a diameter of only 4 meters , the Totem should have collapsed ages ago, which makes it a climber’s dream come true. Despite the fact that the Pole is at risk of collapsing any second and is notoriously hard to climb, many climbers accept the challenge and climb it until they have reached the top.
3 hours later I was sitting at the top of the totem pole with a banded bandage on my head. I was enjoying the view and was terrified that the stack was going to fall. I was there until 4 o'clock then I climbed back down it was so much easier than climbing up and left for Sydney. it took 2 hours to fly back and I was so exhausted . I would say everyone should go and enjoy themselves. It is a great experience that everybody should go on.
